Orient Express La Dolce Vita: Luxury Rail Travel Returns to Italy

1 min read

The iconic Orient Express is making a grand return with its latest iteration, La Dolce Vita—an opulent new train set to begin service in Italy in 2025. This marks the brand’s first revival in over 40 years and represents a bold new chapter in luxury rail travel, offering passengers a refined journey through some of Italy’s most spectacular landscapes and cultural destinations.

A collaboration between Arsenale S.p.A. and Accor, La Dolce Vita is inspired by the glamour and cinematic charm of 1960s Italy. The train features 12 deluxe cabins, 18 suites, and a showpiece “La Dolce Vita” suite. Interiors are designed with a retro-modern aesthetic, showcasing rich textures, Italian artistry, and panoramic windows that frame the countryside as it glides past. Guests can also indulge in curated Italian cuisine and regional wines, with menus crafted to reflect the gastronomic richness of each route.

La Dolce Vita’s itineraries stretch from the snow-capped Alps in the north to the sun-drenched southern coasts, including immersive routes through Tuscany, Lazio, and Sicily. Trips range from one to three nights, each designed to deliver an unforgettable blend of scenery, history, and culture. Onboard, the journey emphasizes slow travel, offering an elegant alternative to fast-paced tourism.

This revival of the Orient Express comes at a time when demand for experiential luxury is rising. With its blend of nostalgia, comfort, and style, La Dolce Vita offers a sophisticated escape for travelers seeking more than just a destination. It’s a celebration of Italian heritage, cinematic romance, and the enduring allure of the golden age of travel—reimagined for a modern audience. As it prepares for its inaugural run, La Dolce Vita promises to be a standout on the world’s luxury travel map.
