Air Canada is broadening its transborder flight offerings from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) for the summer of 2025, targeting both budget-conscious and affluent travelers. The airline has announced the addition of five new destinations, including Tampa, Raleigh, Nashville, Austin, Denver, and Miami, in partnership with United Airlines.

This expansion introduces new non-stop services to Tampa thrice weekly, Raleigh twice weekly, and Nashville four times weekly. Additionally, capacity will increase with five weekly flights to Austin, twice daily to Denver, and four weekly to Miami, marking an 11% boost in seat capacity compared to summer 2024.

Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President at Air Canada, emphasised that this expansion reinforces the airline’s status as the leading carrier between Canada and the U.S. “Our network strengthens Western Canada’s access to vibrant U.S. cities while offering Americans a gateway to British Columbia,” Galardo stated.

The new routes are designed to enhance convenience for travellers by connecting YVR to rapidly growing U.S. cities. For instance, flights to Poros and Aegina in Greece will be accessible via Athens from major UK airports like Manchester, Birmingham, and London Stansted, with ferry and private transfers included in Jet2holidays bookings. Palermo in Italy, set to launch in summer 2026, will offer flights from Manchester, Birmingham, and Newcastle International on specific days each week. Additionally, Tallinn in Estonia will be introduced as a Christmas market destination, with flights available from Manchester, Birmingham, and Edinburgh, featuring festive experiences in Estonia’s capital.

Jet2holidays CEO Barry Biffle highlighted the strategic move, saying, “The launch of five brand-new destinations is fantastic news for our customers. It responds directly to the growing demand for our award-winning holidays year-round.” These new destinations aim to attract a diverse range of travelers, from those seeking summer sun in Greece and Italy to winter festivities in Tallinn.

This expansion aligns with a broader trend among low-cost carriers to offer more premium options alongside their traditional budget fares. By enhancing its destination portfolio and improving service offerings, Air Canada aims to capture a wider market segment, ensuring memorable and enjoyable holidays for its customers across some of Europe’s most desirable locations.

Tickets for the expanded summer 2025 schedule are now available on Air Canada’s website, providing travellers with more choices and better connectivity for their holiday plans.
