Building on the success of the inaugural event hosted by the Dominican Republic, the 2nd UN Tourism Africa & Americas Summit will take place in Livingstone, Zambia, from April 8 to 10, 2025. Co-organised by UN Tourism and Zambia’s Ministry of Tourism, the summit will bring together ministers of tourism from both Africa and the Americas, senior government officials, and key private sector stakeholders to foster dialogue, investment, and sustainable tourism development.

This year’s summit will focus on several critical aspects, including strengthening air connectivity, building resilience within the tourism industry, attracting investment, and advancing education and skills development. By addressing these key areas, the summit intends to unlock new opportunities for regional integration, accelerate economic growth, and create a more sustainable and inclusive future for both regions.

The event offers an essential platform for cross-regional collaboration, enabling stakeholders from both continents to share insights, strategies, and best practices for fostering tourism as a powerful driver of economic progress and social development. As both regions continue to recover and grow post-pandemic, the summit will aim to chart a course toward long-term, sustainable growth for tourism while ensuring that it benefits local communities and respects cultural and environmental sensitivities.

The 2nd UN Tourism Africa & Americas Summit promises to be an important milestone in building stronger, more resilient tourism sectors in Africa and the Americas. By focusing on critical aspects like connectivity and education, the event will lay the groundwork for a more integrated and prosperous future for tourism in both regions.
