Uber has introduced a new shuttle service offering rides from select locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn to New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). Initially priced at $10 per seat until April 30, the fare will increase to $25 thereafter.
This initiative aims to provide a more affordable alternative to traditional rideshare options, which can cost upwards of $80 for trips to JFK. The service utilizes 14-passenger shuttles, allowing each rider one personal item and one piece of luggage up to 50 pounds. Passengers can book up to four seats via the Uber app, with reservations available from seven days in advance to the day of travel. The service operates every 30 minutes from 5 a.m. to 10:45 p.m., with pickup points at Port Authority Terminal, Grand Central Terminal, Chinatown (corner of Canal Street and Lafayette Street), and Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn (corner of Hanson Place and Ashland Place).
Upon arrival, riders validate their reservation with the driver using a QR code and unique PIN provided through the app. Uber has partnered with ETS, a commercial shuttle operator, to manage the service. This expansion follows Uber’s previous shuttle offerings, including an $18 service to LaGuardia Airport launched in October 2024. The company is also exploring similar services for other airports, such as Boston Logan International Airport.
By bundling passengers together, Uber aims to offer budget-conscious travelers a cost-effective and convenient option for airport transportation, addressing concerns over the high costs associated with individual rideshare trips to JFK.
