Hilton has announced a major expansion in India with the introduction of two new hotels at Delhi’s Aerocity, a rapidly developing business and tourism hub near Indira Gandhi International Airport. The new properties will include a 150-room Waldorf Astoria and a 350-room Hilton Hotels & Resorts, set to open in the next three to five years in collaboration with Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL).
The Waldorf Astoria will be Hilton’s second property of its kind in India, following a planned opening in Jaipur in 2027. This luxury hotel will feature signature dining experiences, event spaces, and wellness amenities, including the iconic Peacock Alley, which is a hallmark of Waldorf Astoria properties worldwide. Meanwhile, the Hilton Hotels & Resorts property will cater to both business and leisure travelers, offering a variety of dining options and social spaces designed for the diverse needs of its guests.
This development is part of Hilton’s broader strategy to expand its presence in the Asia Pacific region, where the company aims to increase its portfolio to 150 hotels in the coming years. The addition of these two properties will significantly boost Hilton’s luxury portfolio in India, complementing its existing brands like Conrad Hotels & Resorts, which currently operate in Bengaluru and Pune. Hilton’s investment in Aerocity underscores the region’s growing importance as a strategic destination for global travelers.
The GMR Aerocity development, with its proximity to the airport and key business districts, is set to further elevate Delhi’s status as a major tourism and business hub. Hilton’s entry into this market will provide elevated experiences for international visitors and bolster the region’s tourism and business economy. Through these new openings, Hilton reaffirms its commitment to expanding in the Indian market, aiming to meet the increasing demand for luxury and high-quality hospitality services.
