The Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) has announced its 2025 theme, “Caribbean Resilience: Crafting Tomorrow’s Tourism,” reflecting the region’s commitment to building a future-ready and sustainable tourism industry. The theme emphasises innovation, collaboration, and adaptability as the Caribbean faces global challenges and opportunities in the evolving travel sector.

CTO Chairman Ian Gooding-Edghill, who also serves as Barbados’ Minister of Tourism and International Transport, highlighted the transformative vision behind the theme. It encourages stakeholders to embrace sustainability, technology, and workforce development while forging stronger partnerships to redefine how the region engages with global travellers.

The theme serves as a rallying call for regional governments, private sector partners, and local communities to collaborate on key priorities, including climate adaptation, digital transformation, and diversification of tourism offerings. This aligns with the ongoing CTO Reimagine initiative, which aims to foster sustainable tourism practices that preserve the Caribbean’s natural and cultural heritage for generations to come.

“The Caribbean’s identity is rooted in resilience,” said Gooding-Edghill. “This theme not only honours our ability to navigate challenges but also inspires us to move beyond recovery towards transformation and long-term success.”

The Caribbean, renowned for its cultural diversity, stunning landscapes and exceptional hospitality, has consistently demonstrated resilience in the face of natural disasters, economic shifts, and global disruptions. The 2025 theme calls on stakeholders to channel this spirit of perseverance into crafting a more innovative, competitive, and sustainable tourism sector.

To realise this vision, the CTO will host workshops, events, and initiatives throughout the year aimed at empowering stakeholders and fostering regional innovation. These efforts seek to position the Caribbean as a leader in global tourism, offering unique and enriching experiences to visitors while delivering economic benefits to its people.

“This theme is an invitation to celebrate our collective resilience and to take bold steps toward a future where the Caribbean remains a beacon of innovation, sustainability, and unmatched hospitality,” Gooding-Edghill added.

CTO invites all partners to actively participate in celebrating and advancing this vision throughout 2025, ensuring a resilient and prosperous future for Caribbean tourism.
