Banyan Tree has officially debuted its first property in Singapore with the launch of Mandai Rainforest Resort on April 2, 2025. Tucked within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, the 4.6-hectare retreat places guests in close proximity to iconic attractions such as the Singapore Zoo, River Wonders, and Night Safari. Designed as a luxurious escape into nature, the resort combines immersive rainforest experiences with Banyan Tree’s signature hospitality.
The property offers 338 accommodations, including 24 unique treehouses modeled after the seed pods of the Purple Millettia. These pod-like structures sit elevated above the forest floor, overlooking the Upper Seletar Reservoir, and offer guests an unparalleled stay nestled in the canopy. The rest of the accommodations, including twin and family rooms, maintain a natural aesthetic while embracing modern comfort.
Sustainability is at the heart of the resort’s design. Guest rooms are naturally ventilated through fully opening windows that allow the ambient rainforest air to flow through. In-room displays provide real-time energy usage data to promote conscious consumption, and rainwater is harvested for flushing systems. These features align with the resort’s broader commitment to environmental stewardship.
Dining at the resort follows a sustainability-first philosophy, with a specialty restaurant sourcing ingredients responsibly. Guests can also enjoy spa treatments, browse locally made artisanal goods, and connect with the community through curated cultural experiences.
For events, the Meranti Ballroom offers a nature-inspired venue for up to 300 guests. Its design is modeled after the hexagonal veil of the rare Bridal Veil Stinkhorn mushroom, reflecting the property’s deep connection to its natural surroundings.
Room rates start at S$305 per night for standard accommodations, while the exclusive treehouses begin at S$1,025 per night, excluding taxes and fees. The range offers both accessible luxury and secluded indulgence for nature-seeking travelers.
Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree brings a fresh dimension to Singapore’s hospitality landscape, offering an eco-conscious, wellness-centered retreat within one of the city’s most biodiverse settings.
