AXA Hong Kong and Macau, in collaboration with HK Express Airways and AXA Partners, have introduced an innovative flight delay parametric protection as part of HK Express’s U-First package. This marks HK Express as the first airline in Asia to offer such parametric benefits, enhancing the travel experience for its passengers.
The U-First service, which provides priority check-in and express boarding, now includes automatic compensation for flight delays exceeding 90 minutes. Travelers purchasing the package at least 48 hours before departure will receive either a worldwide Airport VIP Lounge Pass valid for six months or a cash compensation of HKD 80 for departures from Hong Kong. This service is fully automated, requiring no additional registration, as flight details are monitored in real-time.
Kenneth Lai, Chief General Insurance Officer at AXA Hong Kong and Macau, emphasized the simplicity and efficiency of the offering, saying it was designed to meet customer needs with transparency and convenience. KK Ong, Commercial Director of HK Express, highlighted the airline’s commitment to adding value beyond low fares, ensuring passengers enjoy worry-free travel despite unexpected delays.
Expanding its reach, AXA and HK Express are extending their insurance solutions to Mainland China and South Korea. Travelers in these regions can purchase single-trip travel insurance via HK Express’s WeChat mini-program or designated webpages, reinforcing AXA’s focus on providing accessible protection across Asia.
To celebrate this partnership, AXA is offering a limited-time promotion on its “SmartProtect Plus” personal accident insurance, with premiums discounted by 50%. Annual coverage starts at just HKD 183, equivalent to HKD 0.5 per day, available until April 30, 2025, on a first-come, first-served basis.
This collaboration showcases AXA’s commitment to enhancing travel experiences through innovative and flexible insurance solutions.
