Archer Aviation has been selected as the official provider of air taxi services for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Games. This partnership marks a significant leap forward in integrating electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) technology into urban transport systems, aiming to address the city’s traffic challenges during the Games.

Archer’s Midnight eVTOL aircraft, designed to carry up to four passengers, will be used to transport attendees between major Olympic venues, including SoFi Stadium and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. These aircraft are expected to provide fast, sustainable travel options, easing congestion and offering a cleaner alternative to traditional forms of transport.

With a range of up to 100 miles and speeds reaching 150 mph, the Midnight aircraft is equipped with 12 propellers to ensure safety and reliability, with a design comparable to commercial airliners. The aircraft will also play a role in emergency and security operations, further enhancing the overall safety of the Games.

This service aligns with LA28’s vision to innovate the Olympic experience by integrating modern technology and sustainable transport solutions. By providing air taxis, Archer Aviation is positioning itself at the forefront of urban air mobility, contributing to the reimagining of how major global events manage transportation.

The introduction of eVTOL technology in the Olympics not only showcases its potential in solving urban transport problems but also highlights the growing role of sustainable technologies in the future of large-scale events. Archer’s participation in the 2028 Games could serve as a pivotal moment for the future of urban mobility and public transportation during major international events.
