Wildlife Conservation Association of the Year – Sydney 2025

The Zoo and Aquarium Association Australasia (ZAA) is the peak body representing zoos, aquariums and wildlife parks across Australasia that operate to the highest standards of welfare and care. Guided by a progressive, science-based approach, ZAA uses the Five Domains Model to accredit members that demonstrate a commitment to positive animal welfare, viewed from the animal’s perspective. Collectively, ZAA members lead more than 100 breeding programs, play an active role in global threatened species recovery, and deliver impactful community education. Each year, they connect 22 million visitors with nature, teach over 1.1 million students about wildlife, and contribute more than $20 million to conservation initiatives. As an association, ZAA unites its members to share knowledge and innovation, driving continuous improvement across conservation, animal welfare, research and community programs.
