Zoo Boise, a division of Boise Parks and Recreation, is redefining what it means to be a zoo. Every visit, membership, and event directly support wildlife conservation, with the zoo pioneering admission-based conservation fees. Since 2007, Zoo Boise has raised more than $4 million for projects that protect animals and habitats around the world. Each new capital project contributes an additional percentage towards conservation, ensuring that growth at the zoo means greater global impact. Partnerships include Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique, where efforts help restore entire ecosystems, and work in El Salvador supporting the rehabilitation of spider monkeys.
