Qantas is getting into the holiday spirit early this year, launching a festive experience for travelers as the Christmas season approaches. With millions expected to travel during the festive period, the airline has created a series of special initiatives designed to spread cheer in the skies.
Throughout December, Qantas will fly two of its iconic aircraft with special Christmas livery, bringing the holiday season to life for lucky passengers. The QantasLink Q400, dubbed “Dasher 8,” and the Boeing 737 “Roo-dolph” will sport festive designs, making every flight a unique holiday experience. In addition to the festive makeover, passengers on these select flights will be treated to double Frequent Flyer points, adding an extra gift for those traveling during the busy season.
For passengers flying internationally, Qantas has curated a special Christmas-themed menu for its First and Business Class customers. The holiday-inspired dishes feature seasonal flavors and ingredients from Australian producers, ensuring a festive culinary experience at 30,000 feet. In addition, the airline has expanded its inflight cocktail offerings with two exclusive new drinks: the festive Bloody Mary mix and the Qantas Aviation Spritz. Available in international economy and premium economy cabins, the Aviation Spritz adds a celebratory touch to the flight.
Qantas’ festive initiatives reflect the airline’s commitment to creating a memorable experience for all passengers, particularly for families and younger travelers who are sure to enjoy the whimsical Christmas aircraft. Catriona Latritt, Qantas Group Chief Customer and Digital Officer, expressed excitement about the return of the special festive livery, noting, “We know our customers, especially the youngest ones, love flying on our special festive aircraft.”
The airline has promised additional Christmas-themed surprises throughout the season, ensuring that this holiday period will be one to remember for all passengers. Whether it’s the festive livery, the special menu, or the extra Frequent Flyer points, Qantas is aiming to bring holiday cheer to the skies.
